This manual contains everything you need to know in order to be able to manage databases in Redlike 2.
1. Insert Database File(s)
Please insert the database file(s) into this folder:
- Windows: C:\ProgramData\Deso\redlike\server\db (if the db folder does not exist, please create it)
- Linux: ~Home/Deso/redlike/server/db (if the db folder does not exist, please create it)
2. Set Path to the Database(s)
The correct path to the database must be set in the file db.ini which is to be found in this folder:
- Windows: C:\ProgramData\Deso\redlike\server
- Linux: ~Home/Deso/redlike/server/db
In this file, there should be a separate section for every database with the correct path and password to the database. See example below:
[Database1]
main = db/main1.db
local = db/local.db
password = secretpassword1
icon =
image =
note =
position = 1
[Database2]
main = db/main2.db
local = db/local.db
password = secretpassword2
icon =
image =
note =
position = 2
You can also set the position for every database. That influences the order in which they are shown in Redlike (see below – Switching databases).
3. Restart Redlike
Keep in mind that every time you make some changes to the db.ini file, you have to restart Redlike Server. To do that, open Redlike Helper by clicking on its light blue icon in Taskbar. This tool will help you control not only Redlike Server, but also the RCC and Redlike Client.
Click on “Stop” next to Redlike Server and then click on “Start” again.
4. Switching Databases in Redlike
Once Redlike is running smoothly, you have a choice to switch from one database to another at any time. You can do this by clicking on the database section in the right bottom corner of the screen.
Another way is to go through the left menu –> Database Connection and then click on Available Databases.
Here, you can choose whatever database and see additional information about it including its picture:
